Finest regards to all on the list !
I posit to all, a curious notion: I have often wondered what the US
government paid for (specifically WJ) receivers during the 1980's.
Thanks to many of you over the past couple of years, I have a vague idea
of the general cost of a receiver (generic); I also realize that the
number of possible configurations and "other" additional functionality
would prohibit one from "zeroing" in on the 1980's dollar value of a
particular receiver.
Is it possible that there is a way to gain insight into this (FOIA is
foremost apparent), just as a possibility of change of perspective. Any
insight might be interesting to other members of the list as well.
I surmise that there is some WJ issued listing of costs during the
period of interest, including marketing material, (some of which I have,
with generous thanks to a certain member) albeit the costing is absent
from this neat documentation.
Fundamentally, it would be cool to know the cost of what ones
collection, as compared to "current assessed value" might be.
Certainly, this information is of no great importance.
Just thought I would throw it on the table....
Kindest and Cheers to all !
-Scott
