The usual 19 inch relay racks that turn up in the USA surplus market seem to
be 14 inches deep. The Racal 6217 is a bit over 16 inches deep. I don't know
about the other models. Some of the small test equipment cabinets that are
of the tabletop variety and would exactly fit a 6217 Racal, height and
width-wise, don't, because they are only 12" deep. Apparently the U.K.
people are lucky and their racks are deeper than what show up on the surplus
market here.
The 14" depth racks won't really fit the old SP-600 receivers either, and
the R-390A sticks out about an inch as well. The R-388 fits nicely.
You can of course order exactly what you need as far as cabinets and racks;
for the more expensive and nicer gear that's probably the way to go.
