Thanks to the gents at CONDOR I have restored the power supply and it's now
on test. Cap C31, the 10uF 63V pre minus 12V reg went short and caused the
receiver to pulse on and off. (All those comments about electro's failing
were right on.)
An odd symptom tied up with the Power Fail signalling to the main board no
doubt. This normally +5V but was probably pulled down when the short loaded
the inverter.
I'll try the radio when I get back to Cairns this weekend.
