[Premium-Rx] Discontinued SW Receivers

I don't know what's up....this is very discouraging. I can't imagine it's
sales. The R-75 has been selling well from what I can tell. Not a lot of
profit in it though. I was hoping Drake would do a "C" model with
improvements.

I know guys that are buying Icom 756 Pro II's and III's that will never use
the transmitter because they are not licensed. They wanted a top notch
receiver using the latest DSP technology. If Icom would deliver a loaded
receiver with the 32 bit DSP technology based on the 756 in the just under
2K price range I think it would sell. I thought that was what they were
going to do when they announced the demise of the R-8500.

Oh well....up side...lots of good used stuff out there....

Cecil....

Over the past two days I learned that ICOM is discontinuing the IC-R75
receiver, and Drake is discontinuing the R8A. As far as I know no new
models will replace these two. Is the NRD-545 next?
