I'm going to echo Mark's observations.  Personally, I have found the 
particular vendor vague (purposefully or not) and unhelpful before the end 
of an auction.  Also, I think that 50 to 100 is a reasonable range to pay 
for the front panel.  Mark, you're correct.  They unloaded a ton of them 
last year in various states.  The stuff is never really tested.  For 
receivers, all they'll ever say is that they power up or not, nothing more, 
so buyer beware.  They tried to sell a Racal 8772 for $1200 opening bid 
about a month ago.  No takers, but it did sell the second time 
around.  Again, I think they are far too expensive IMHO.  I believe one is 
better off sticking with true enthusiasts with a good name and reputation, 
rather than these surplus dealers who are only in it for the $$ and don't 
really have the time nor inclination to test the equipment.  I would repeat 
these same comments for a certain surplus dealer in Toronto as 
well.  Another in Smith Falls, Ontario, however, I only have good 
recommendations.  He's honest, and the prices are reasonable.......Walt.
