[Premium-Rx] Racal RA6790/GM improvements

Hi.

I'm the dude who wrote that review on EHAM.

My pet beast is set up for the 10 KHz low end. I've never actually SEEN a 1
KHz
version of the rig, but found out about it's existance from Racal literature.

Gary W. has been selling the LF / VLF EPROMS for some time now.

Finding some of the parts for more scarce options is a matter of pure luck;
there weren't many copies of them made to begin with, mainly because they
weren't
needed by anybody except for VERY specialized purposes.

As far as the ELF options (below 10 KHz) are concerned; I doubt that there's
much of a market for them, simply because there's nothing much in the range of
1 - 10 KHz except natural radio phenomenon... and there are much better (and
much CHEAPER) ways of dealing with that.

Below 1 KHz there are things of interest, but as far as I know there wasn't a
version of the rig ever produced for that; receivers going that low tend to
get
into completely different design philosophies from the RA6790.

The ISB option is of interest to some of us, but I'd count the market as
rather
small.

Re. the RF amplifier option, I found that the RF amp from the RA1792 is just
about identical mechanically, and a spot on match electrically. I managed to
get hold of one for my RA6793 on EBAY, before the prices on them went insane.

The panadaptor output board... who knows? There are other ways of doing that
trick that are easier than getting hold of the "proper" board.
