Carl Moreschi, N4PY is the fellow who originated the Modification for the
RX340. I tried to find the actual mod, but off hand don't see it in the
folder where it should be. I suspect if you do a Google search with Carl's
name and call sign, you should find the details. Can't help you with the
WJ...one of the few receivers I haven't owned. The 2050 is neck and neck
with the R-390A. I recall doing some interesting A-B comparisons in the
past between the 390A and the 2050. One was when French Guyana was still
on SW on 5050v. With both receivers I was able to differentiate a station
on exactly 5050 and the French channel a hundred or two hundred Hz
above. Pretty snazzy, I thought. Another time was with Antarctica on
15476 during a special test to North America. Again, both performed
admirably (with the 390A winning by a hair), beating out cochannel
interference on 15475..........Walt.
