[Premium-Rx] Why Some R9000 Posts were Rejected

Good morning all ...

I see our server has just rejected a bunch of posts on the Icom R9000. They
all violated the "too many recipients" rule.

PLEASE - DON'T hit the REPLY TO ALL button when posting a response. The
server will let you have three recipients - one of which is the list
address. Any more than that, and they will be rejected.

ALSO - I see that cross-posting to several lists continues despite my
fervent pleas to desist. This is a sure way to get me really annoyed, as
anyone on the other lists that then does a "reply to all" sends a post to
our server, which holds it as a non-member post, then sends an email to
Greg and me asking what to do with it, then reminds me daily that I haven't
dealt with the illegal post, and I have to sign on to the server to delete it.

ALSO - this provides the address of our List along with the address of one
of our members to those who generate spam. This info is all that is needed
to send unwanted emails to our list members through our server, thus
bypassing our efforts to keep the list clean. Short of putting everyone on
moderated status, there is nothing I can do to prevent this other than to
plead with our members NOT TO CROSS POST!

I could, of course, put the offending members on moderated status - but
surely we don't need to do this, do we???

73s, Jan
