[Premium-Rx] FCC Radio Gear

Well, to be fair, why in the world should my taxes be paying for premium Rxs
when the Icoms will do the job? The truth (which might get me banned from
the list <g>) is that those WJ receivers are basically $500 hammers in that
application. They are no better at driving the nails the FCC has to drive
than an IC-R75.
It is not bad news when the Feds can save OUR money by running commodity
equipment.

Dear All
I agree completely. The FCC is a shadow of its former self, a subject that
both angers and saddens me greatly. Their offices in DC are essentially a
mausoleum as well.
Deregulation and the FCC did not work--big business loves it, the American
people don't get it. The demise of the VOA and the USIA is another pathetic
situation, but I won't go there either.
