Hello Mike.

FWIW...  the anitviral scanner at EARTHLINK caught the worm before it
got here, and automatically deleted the beastie.

It identified this particular culprit as W32.Netsky.


It figures...  after YEARS of roving the Internet without effective 
protection, I finally broke down and bought a Norton/Symantec firewall
package, and a month later the ISP sets up a REALLY effective virus 
scanner!  <<grin>>
