[Premium-Rx] spectrum Analyzer to use as a signal monitor

I've used an 8553 on a WJ-8718 and found it cumbersome
to use. Problem is tuning to the IF center frequency
and then reducing the span to something useable for
spectrum monitoring, perhaps 20 KHz and keeping the
center frequency where it needs to be. Once you have
it on it is fine but as soon as the spectrum goes out
of frequency lock, you have to repeat the whole
process over again. You actually have to try this to
appreciate what I am trying to say. It would be easier
to do with a spectrum analyzer with a digital
frequency readout that has a synthesized LO. I would
look for a panadapter at the proper IF frequency.
