Hi guys,
As I read yet another rightfully concerned write-up on BPL, it occurred to
me that concerns like "piping data into one's house on the residential power
lines" could be mitigated with isolation transformers and EMI filters.
Setting aside the physical and financial limitations we all face, and the
issue of where in the line the apparatus might be inserted, what might the
legalities and liabilities be?
I have just bought a property where this idea might work...my meter is over
1000 feet from any antennas that are planned...the lines are buried. If I
insert legitimate filtering into the line just feet after the meter, I could
restore clean power.
I guess what I'm asking, is: Is BPL like electronic junkmail? That is, you
can't ask that it not be delivered because the carrier is contacturally
obligated to deliver it.
Anyone?
regards
John Collins
