Hello Jan,

   Gosh, I'm an eye doc but maybe I'm having vision problems cuz I caint 
find that PayPal icon nowhere on dat site!!!  Lemme know where it's at and 
I'll be happy to throw some muullahhh your way to help defer 
expenses.  While I don't post much here, I sure enjoy this fine list.

Hi Gang ...

The success of our List reflects the generous donation of time and effort
by more than a few of our subscribers. It also reflects the willingness of
Greg Bailey to pay the internet costs out of his own pocket (without - I
have to say - a word of complaint!!!). As the number of members - and thus
bandwidth - continues to grow, this cost will increase. It isn't a lot
right now, but a few members have suggested we avoid future problems by
looking at financing options now.

Other lists have faced this problem, and some have implemented a
subscription fee. We don't want to do this for a number of reasons. Not
least among them is that our list is heavily international, and payment of
small amounts can be a real problem for some subscribers.

Greg and I believe that the best way is to provide a simple, secure and
private mechanism for those who wish to contribute to the List's
maintenance. We are thus seeking donations and have placed a PayPal
donation icon on the List's website, with instructions. This allows us to
also receive donations from non-subscribers who value the site's material.
We won't suggest any minimum amount, but please realize that donations of
less than $5 tend to get eaten up by PayPal's processing fees!

When the amount received reaches the estimated cost for the next year or
two, we will remove the donation link until we get close to being broke
again. Donations will be completely confidential, although contributors
will receive an acknowledgement email from either Greg or me.
