Thanks for the tip. I've done a similar mod on the ICOM R-75, but using a 6
kHz filter. It seems to help close-in performance for foreign mediumwave
splits on 9 kHz channels, and other DX where weak signals are wedged up
against powerhouses.

Are these 40.455 Mhz filters tough to find, and are there any sources other
than ePay?

Find a couple 8 KHz filters for the first IF and you will see some real
performance. fc
