FS: COLLINS R-390A/URR (Motorola manufacture), with cabinet. I have a very
nice R390A, built by Motorola (serial # 571) which is mounted in a black
desktop cabinet. To the best of my knowledge, this receiver is complete,
stock, original, and unmodified. I have owned it several years and have
never had a problem with it. I am selling it because my receiver collection
is taking up too much space, and is many items are not being used. Time to
reduce inventory and let someone else enjoy these great old boatanchors.
This R-390A is very nice cosmetically.it has a few surface scratches on the
panel and cabinet. For the most part, you have to look for them in order to
see them. Very clean internally. Electrically, the receiver is really,
really nice. Using a 260' dipole it hears signals on every band segment from
0.5-32 MHz. It is EXTREMELY sensitive, selectivity is great, and worst-case
frequency accuracy is generally +/- 2-3 Khz. It sounds great on AM, and if
the RF gain is carefully adjusted, it sounds quite good on sideband as well.
Both meters are intact and work fine, as do all controls. Package includes
an original 1961 issue Organizational Maintenance Manual, plus a twin-ax
connector with balun. In addition to the manual, there's also a bunch of
articles on modifications, adjustments, etc. I have described the receiver
as accurately as possible.but it is being sold as-is. I would REALLY prefer
not to ship this! In addition to being very heavy, the chances of it
sustaining damage during shipment are significant. It is in such nice shape
now, I would hate to see it dropped off a truck by a UPS gorilla and sustain
permanent damage. I am in the Kansas City area, and you may pick the
receiver up at my location, or I will drive to meet you within 100 miles of
Kansas City for $675.00. If you insist on me shipping it to you, let's talk,
so we can find a way to reduce the risks of damage and determine
packing/shipping costs. Lots of photos available (about 12 MB, most around
700K in size). Email me if you want me to send pictures, if you have
broadband, and if I need to compress the photo sizes below 700K. Please feel
free to contact me if you require additional information.

73,

Dan (K0DAN)
