The only size cabinet I found that didn't waste the desktop advantages of
the 340's size was the smallest-depth standard Euro-size Type 38 cabinet
from Elma.

You'll have to buy the component parts and assemble it, but the resulting
cabinet is built like a tank with Swiss precision. Not cheap, but very good.
After some difficulty trying to wend my way from web-site description to
actual order, I ended up dealing with their Northeast office in Columbia,
MD. A very pleasant lady named Kathy (as I recall from early 2001) helped
me put together the order(s) by credit card. The phone number is 410-381-8275.
Be sure to include a mounting kit, as all screws are metric.
The resulting cabinet is really desk-top (unlike Ten-Tec's, which I use for
my Harris) and both less deep and higher quality than the only US-made
options I was able to find. I stack decoders on top of mine and can easily
slide the RX340 in and out without disturbing them.
The cabinet is only 12.7" deep, though the 340's handles and knobs protrude
beyond its front by another 1/2". The feet supplied with it are not as good
as the heavier-duty screw-onTen-Tec feet, however, so I just substituted
those (since they had to come off the 340 for it to fit, anyway).
Good listening,
Al
