[Premium-Rx] Watkins Johnson WJ8969B/DRD info needed.

Hello to the list !

 

I am looking for anyone who might have some background on the WJ8969B/DRD
spectrum display.  The 8969B is a DRD that is effectively a spectrum
analyzer based on a 70 MHz IF input.  It has a frequency range of 500 MHz to
18 GHz.  The instrument was engineered for a very high EMI / RFI
environment.  The design is elegant and well executed.  The components used
in this model would beg the honour of any design engineer in the RF field
(chronologically respective).

 

I must say, it is very much a credit to the folks at WJ who breathed life
into it.  

 

Downside is = 70 MHz IF input.  Question is =  feasibility to upconvert a
21.4 MHz input for use with a more standard receiver IF value.

 

Any input would be very much valued.
