Hi Gang ...

The list continues to grow, with our esteemed list owner (aka Greg Bailey, 
the Voice of San Diego) barely keeping up processing new members!

We are still interested in more material for the companion website. Manuals 
and articles are always of interest, but members pix and links to important 
websites are even more in demand. For some odd reason, even though our 
subscribers are overwhelmingly US based, the few members who have sent a 
pix of themselves and their electronics are still mostly non-US.

EMAIL BOUNCES:

Any list server gets a lot of bounces - people change email addresses 
without changing their subscribing address, mailboxes fill up, people go on 
holidays and leave an automatic reply, etc. The server detects most of 
these, and keeps track by subscriber. If the number gets too high, the 
subscriber is temporarily suspended. If it continues, they are unsubscribed 
by the server. This all without Greg or I knowing about it until the person 
is dumped.

I have set the server defaults high enuff so it is unlikely that someone 
will be dumped because of a temporary mail problem. But it can happen.

The server detects most bounces, but not all. Those it doesn't recognize 
are forwarded to Greg and I. We usually ignore them, but now and then see a 
reason to track down the subscriber and try to remedy the problem. However, 
the number of such bounces has been quite high lately (... and we all know 
the problem of unwanted email!) so I have set the server to just dump these 
uncaught bounces without letting us know.

SO - if you suddenly find yourself LISTless - please let Greg and/or me 
know. We're trying to make the list as self running as possible, but need 
your continued help.

Both Greg and I continue to be delighted with the level and professionalism 
of the list discussions. Makes the effort worth while!
