Regarding the respondents-

The above list is not in any order, and I apologize if I missed anyone's name. I posted the Proposal on Friday, and within three minutes noted SWL DXer Walter Salmaniw in Canada replied....and the last post I received this morning prior to drafting this was from Keith Grunberge, located about 30km east of Innsbruck, right in the heart of the Alps! We have had an excellent exchange of information and thoughts, and it has taken place without resulting in a social melt down. I believe this clearly speaks to the professionalism of this group.

Cursory summary of comments-

1) With one or two exceptions, those replying voiced their approval for the Proposal which will allow the List to be used for the selling and buying of items.

2) The opinions about reflecting E-Bay announcements, were basically split 30% for, and 70% against, with one member actually switching sides midway through the discussion.

Announcement Policy Change, Selling and Buying-

The 'no selling or buying' policy will be rescinded for a trial period of six months (Nov. 23, 2003 - May 1, 2004). At the conclusion of this period, and based on the agreement of the members, this change in policy may become permanent. The new policy regarding buying and selling is as follows:

    1. All items must be directly related to the subject of Premium-Rx. Garden variety parts, boatanchors, etc., are not acceptable.

    2. Announcements will be limited to personal items and shall not encompass commercial sales or services. Frequent posting by one individual will be taken to be commercial.

    3. The SUBJECT LINE of such announcements must start with the letters "FS" (for sale) or "WTB" (want to buy). This will allow members NOT interested in such posts to set their internet software filters to automatically delete all such postings.

Example: Subject line: FS Harris 590 Lo Freq Audio Filter, ....... OR ....... WTB Harris 590 Lo Freq Audio Filter.

Announcement Policy Continuance, E-Bay Announcements-

Based on the comments received, it is apparent that the present policy should remain unchanged. This decision can be revisited in the future.

1. Announcements regarding eBay, other auctions, items from other newsgroups or lists, or any other third party postings are not permitted.

In Conclusion-

This week represents the conclusion of our fifth year for the Premium-Rx List. We are now 275+ members, and continue to grow. Jan and I appreciate the many comments, and words of encouragement we receive off line. Your suggestions are always welcome. The strength of this List is its sharing of information, cooperative spirit, and self governance.

We look forward to our sixth year, and thank all who continue to make this a success.
