Hopefully, but you probably know what they say about that proverbial road,
where it goes and what it is paved with.

over ebay. It the best an cheapest way in Europe of acquiring premium rx,

200 % over the ebay price.
Same here -- over 90% from ebay. Ebay pricing is volatile. Often few
bidders and the top two determine the final. The pricing you have enjoyed
reflects the existing mix of activity. Change that, the dynamics are
altered and prices can increase dramatically. They may well approach or
exceed the professional sellers' pricing that apparently concerns you. From
time to time, they do.
>Maybe some members of the group are jealous about ebay, because they don't
or cant use this market and therefor had to pay a lot more for there
equipment.
Not me! Some see ebay, and all auctions or "best offer" sales as a
manifestation of extreme greed and inflation-generating. When distilled out
to it's full glory it smacks of bolshevism.
>Anyway I don't want to start a new thread about ebay!!!!
Me neither. This is an old thread and it's getting older. It will be
interesting to see what happens with some premium rx auctions that are
posted here. I'm only following up because it seems that my earlier points
were misunderstood.
Incidentally, will you be a "sport" and share any auction finds you plan to
bid on -- even though it means you will probably lose or pay more?
Interesting, eh?
I will be more than happy to post ebay sightings as I'm not in the market
for anything right now. Certainly, everyone will be absolutely delighted
and grateful. (Well, at least the sellers will appreciate it.) If there is
something I will be bidding on, please forgive me if I neglect to mention
it. ;-)
>Keep them warm and, if possible, glowing!!
Now on THAT, I agree! (Glowing, eh? Keith, would those be LED readouts,
backlit LCD's, pilot lights -- or are you confessing to being a tube/valve
boatanchor guy? OK by me but don't tell anyone ;-)
best regards,
Barry

I'd vote for not discriminating against eBay ads. The practice seems
arbitrary (what's so evil about eBay, vis-a-vis any other means of
individual-to-individual trading? The fact that eBay gets a cut of the
sale?) IMHO we should either leave the previous noncommercial policy in
place, or open it to all venues on a nondiscriminatory basis.
Spam from commercial sellers has never been a problem on this list, thanks
to the tireless vetting of new members by the management. :)
Of course, tasteless and gratuitous marketing practices (L@@K! RARE! HF 2050
PARTS! ONLY 9 HOURS LEFT!!!!11!!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3059373662) are to be
discouraged with all the wrath of the Wouff Hong. (Ahem.)
It is usually pretty obvious if a member has signed up only to hawk his/her
wares, on eBay or otherwise. That problem can be dealt with when it happens,
in my opinion. Like other members who have spoken up, I would have missed
seeing some neat stuff without the occasional eBay lead in the list. eBay's
search engine is no good for stuff you didn't know you wanted!
