[Premium-Rx] WJ 8718

While reading some of the old WJ Technotes, I found one entitled "HF
Receiver Design".  In it the authors talked about the design of the WJ 8718
receiver.  It was apparently designed to be a lower cost HF receiver.  Now
I'm curious; the 8718 was supposed to be designed to sell for about a
quarter of a standard HF receiver cost according to this Technote.  Since
the selling price was around $8000, what were the standard receivers that
sold for four times this much?  Harris and Racal were going for about this
same price, maybe a bit more, but certainly not four times as much.  I would
sure like to find one of those standard receivers!
