Hello Steve and List,

The 8716 TEMPEST version has BNC connectors on the back panel rather
than terminal 
strips. 
"tempest" means, on one hand, that it is considered to be "significant
military equipment" under 22CFR121.1 category XI.B.3. (Which is, if us
non-US citizens wanted to buy such a receiver in the US a tricky thing,
as export might not be allowed).
On the other hand "tempest" meant something like shielding the receiver
in order to prevent  gathering of information by means of the
electromagnetic emanations, if I remember well.
