Fellow Members:

Please welcome Gary Follett from Saint Paul, MN. to our membership.  Our newest member is an engineer for the Detector Electronics Company which is involved in ultra high vacuum techniques. Specifically, he supports the manufacture of vacuum tubes for the detection of fires by their UV light emission. He also assists in the manufacture of MOS sensors for detection of Hydrogen Sulfide gas. These are made by vacuum deposition processes.

Gary operates a Plessey Model PRS 2282A, which he says is "the most beautifully built receiver of all time (IMHO)"  (Ed. note: I know that should generate some digital noise on the List).  He also has a Sunair RT-9000, and uses a Signal One Mil Spec 1030 as his primary ham station receiver. 

Paralleling the philosophy of many of our List members, Gary says he is "committed to the use and repair of commercial grade receivers as they offer performance far beyond the run-of-the-mill consumer receivers, both for short wave reception and tough conditions in the Ham radio spectrum".
