[Premium-Rx] PLC

Gentlemen,

PLC offered by Providers and/or electricity companies is just one problem to
be faced.
There are so called "In-house-PLC modems" available, which allows everybody
to hook up a little net without the need for an extra cabling just by using
their internal power lines instead (An alternative to wireless network
appliances). The same possibilities for interfering apply: either over the
power lines connecting the individual locations, or directly over radiation
from their homes. It does not need to be Your next door neighbour, the range
from 4 to 26MHz might become effectivly blocked. Tracking down all legal or
illegal possible interferers might become a nightmare.

What will this lead to? Will we have our receivers + antennas being located
somewhere in the hills powered on batteries? To be operated remotely via
twin 600Ohm line or maybe more sophisticated over a system of transponders
in a "line of sight" frequency band?

These are options for commercial use, but I doubt (even though the technical
implications are interesting to study) most amateurs are willing to cope
with the tremendous amount of efforts and money on those possibilities.

regards
Frank
