Fellow Members:
Albert P. Belle Isle, located in the Boston area, has become our newest member. Al has been reading our List for a number of years and only recently decided he would risk becoming a member. He states the interesting thread regarding the Cubic 3030, and its famous (notorious?) keypad bounce, drove him to join. You see, Al operates a 3030 and knows the bounce problem personally.
Our newest member has/is an adjunct faculty member in the area of EE at MIT and Syracuse U. He also has spent almost 20 years of climbing corporate ladders in the defense and computer industries including some time with GE and was a VP at Wang. He started his own (CEO) venture capital-backed fabless semiconductor company, which he sold to NCR.
Al currently uses a Cubic R-3030A and a Harris R-2368/URR. He considers a couple of Ten-Tec RX340s his best all-around performing receivers, for which he has written an RS-232 control program with built-in FFT (in ANSI C and Win32 has
API calls).
