OK, that answers my question from before.  The problem with the Soviet 
woodpecker, is that it did not sweep.  The chirping was heard over wide 
portions of the bands, including smack in the middle of the broadcasting 
bands.  Hence it's unpopularity.  I can live with the sweep, but not the 
former..........Walt.
