Hi Greg and List:
Makes sense, though I would add that it would also be a good idea to update and expand the included receiver lists, perhaps a few at a time, incorporating say, the RF-550, several European made units, and others that may be suggested by the group. The listinfo pages indicate 11/02 as the last update.
Receivers that are determined to be not qualified could also be listed with primary reason(s) why, so as to make it clear that they were was considered. An additional nice touch -- a link to other lists/resources for those receivers. Many of the list members have a variety of equipment of various levels, so it would serve as a stopover to check whether or not it is appropriate to post on Premium-Rx.
I'll close with a possibly funny aside. I received an email with the subject line "Budget-Rx". It was spam for a discount internet pharmacy.

Subject: [Premium-Rx] List announcement regarding proposal for serial numberindex
Fellow Members:
We have received 6 responses to my inquiry for the establishment of a serial number data bank. The most positive reply was; "ABSOLUTELY!", while the most negative was; "Machs Nicht (it makes no difference)". Nigel's (GandalfG8 at aol.com) comment represents the remaining four respondents with; "I could see a value in including serial numbers and/or part numbers where they have a real significance in terms of options fitted, etc".
With only 6 out of the 250+ members responding, I think it would be best to put this idea on the back burner, and redirect our efforts in an area more rewarding. In this regard, Jan and I are adopting a policy of not generating a S/N index, but rather we propose including this information, along with any associated hardware changes, in the detailed description of the specific premium receiver as found in our 'Premium Radio' subcategory.
So for example, if I do a page on the Cubic 3030, I will include any information I have on mods, S/Ns etc. If other subscribers have additional information on modifications and S/Ns, they can let me know once they see what I've done. Then the next time the page is revised this information could be added.
If at a later date we find ourselves with sufficient information for a separate S/N index, perhaps at that time we could accomplish the task.
