Hi all,
Thanks for all suggestions that I've received. Nigel; your idea turned out to work very well ! However, after being ignored by my family for the last few days, eating out of the bin, I decided to go ahead and go for for the ferrite beads suggestion which turned out to work out quit well. I've used ferrite rings with a diameter of around 1" manufactured by Epcos. These can easily be purchased from Schuricht in Germany (sorry, don't know a supplier in the USA....). I've used 4 ea on both the mains lead and the antenne lead going to the central antenna connection, 2 were T35 and two were N30 as basic magnetic material. The other modification I made, was adding a filter to the mains lead going to the tv set made by Crydom that is normally used to filter electronic relays from the same manufacturer (if I remember correctly, the part number was 1FS25), it doesn't require a ground lead.
Allthough the interference is not completely gone, the noise is acceptable now.
Regards,
Herbert
