Fellow Members:

Our thanks to everyone who joined in the discussion of "what is a Premium Radio". We have experienced a constructive exchange of viewpoints, with many positive suggestions. In addition, many of you have forwarded (off line) suggestions directly to Jan Skirrow and myself.

>From all the suggestions, Jan and I have concluded:

1. --We North Americans are often woefully ignorant about premium radios made in Europe. This fact was made apparent by the recent posts of our members that share our List, but not our continent. Many of you mentioned hardware that you thought should be included within the Premium envelope. After doing a Google search, Jan and I were both impressed and in agreement with your positions. Thus, we'd like to suggest that one of our European members help us to fill out our list by taking on the task of polling other European members to nominate European radios we have neglected. Volunteers welcome!

2. --There will never be agreement as to exactly what a premium radio is. Technical specs are part of it, but the subjective experience of using it is equally important. In this regard, we will include a special page/s on our new website for members to describe their favorite radio (premium or not) and with some explanation of why they prefer this one to other high end radios they may own (or have owned). This will be explained further once the site is ready for preview.

3. --As co-moderators of this List, Jan and I spend about two hours a day in administration activities (as well as personally pay for the bandwidth and server space). Thus, we have unilaterally decided to establish an award which is to be given to the member that has demonstrated 'outstanding-ness' (whatever that means).

And now, may I have the envelope, please- Our first recipient is:

**drummmmmmm roll**

Be it known to all members, that on this day Premium-Rx member, Christine, has been awarded the first "Premium-Rx Originality Award", for her proposal to establish a receiver's - Touchy-Feely Perimeter -, thus quantifying, from this time forth, this squeamish and elusive unknown.

Ms. Christine (christine2001_579 at t-online.de), your comments were priceless, on topic, and perfectly timed! Anytime you are in San Diego, you are welcome to hug and rate any receiver in the lab. ;-)

Greg and Jan
