Fellow Members:

It has been a long time since I shared a bio about our 'newest member'.
Some of you have inquired as to their discontinuance?  Seems that all the
free time my retirement was supposed to provide, was replaced by a list of
things to do around the house.  In fact, I don't think I have published a
bio on any new member since my retirement party in June of last year.  And
just for the record, what a party it was, with members Ben Wallace and Kerry
Banke (San Diego) and Jan Skirrow (Vancouver BC, Canada) in attendance.

In the past ten months the List has under gone a number of changes, the
major one being our move from Premium-Rx at Engineering.SDSU.edu to :
Premium-Rx at ml.Skirrow.org.  Jan Skirrow is now co-moderator of the List, and
it is apparent that he has made some positive changes in the service you
have been receiving.  He has also been working on the Premium-Rx Home Page
which will offer a number of new additions, including a section on 'Members
Gallery, Members Bios, Radio picture layouts, Links, and Ancient Archives'.
Jan has these on the server, and is applying the final polish prior to
making them public.  Thank you Jan!

As to our membership, it continues to grow and has recently surpassed 240
members.  March of 2003 witnessed our first lady member (Christine,
mailto:christine2001_579 at t-online.de ) and the change of my opening
greetings from "Gentlemen" to "Fellow Members".  Welcome to the membership
Christine!

Thanks to all of those who have worked to make this List a success, to those
of you that post information that assists others, and especially to Jim
Pruitt and Jan for their server work.

Fellow Members-

Our newest member is Michael Starke, who claims to be a "devoted SWLer (but
not hardcore)."  Mike lives on a farm with his wife and two daughters near
Duesseldorf/Cologne, Germany.  I noted that his English skills were
remarkable, and when asked, he responded he had worked in Leeds, as well as
in a kids camp in Andover, CT.  (ed note: I got news for him, his English is
better than some natural born adults in Andover).

Presently Mike, at 42, runs his own Engineering company (
www.solutions-handling.com ), providing cleanroom solutions to the
semiconductor and related industries.  The business allows him travel
opportunities, which means meeting hams and SWL types in many different
countries.

Mike has a number of receivers including a Watkins-Johnson, etc.  If you
