[Premium-Rx] WJ 8617A OPTION C

Hi,
    can anyone help me with a diagram or any info. on the appendix C in the 
appendices manual? My one has details of just about all of them except this 
one. What I want to know really, since I think mine is faulty, is what does 
it do? and if this option board is removed, presumably you have to link 
something on the socket that the board fits into for the spectrum display to 
still work. Any info. most appreciated, Dave
