For the FMT, we used a HP Z3801 GPS receiver, with a 10 MHz reference.  I
had it active for a few of days prior to the FMT.

You know, it's funny you mention the "fancy toys." 

I had a couple of participants that used all sorts of measuring devices,
software, etc.  And yet, they were off more than a few hertz than the guy
that just used straightforward frequency measuring techniques.

I guess that just goes to show all the high-tech equipment in the world
probably won't make up for good old-fashioned technical know-how and
experience.
