Did anyone besides yours truly participate in the ARRL Frequency Measuring Test? I did, and received the results by mail yesterday. The transmitted frequency on 40 meters was 7046882.3 Hz. I measured 7046882 with the Harris RF-590/Austron oscillator using an oscilloscope, signal generator and counter. That's a 0.04 PPM error in frequency. Not too shabby! I think I could have gotten closer but conditions were bad. About an hour earlier I could hear the ARRL CW transmissions on all bands, but the ionosphere fell apart during that hour, and I was lucky to hear the 40 meter transmission.

Out of curiosity, what accuracy does ARRL claim for this signal? I.e. is it 7046682.3 plus or minus .01 or better?
In the letter they sent, they said "Due to doppler effects and other propagation anomalies, errors of less than about 0.4 PPM are considered normal." On the ARRL web site, the transmitter is a Harris controlled by a GPS frequency standard, so it should be very accurate.
