	Hi All,
	Happy New Year!
I'm wondering why the SD5000 mixer in my RA6830 is only rated for an
IP3 of plus 30 dBM. The part can
do plus 40 dBM and then LO is strong enough. The transformers are
also big enough. My manual doesn't
show the internal wiring of the first mixer. I wonder if anybody out
there has the internal schematic of
the first mixer wiring of the RA6790 or RA6830 so I can see the
performance limit. I'm building
a home brew second mixer with push pull Norton amplifiers and plan
to use a SI8901 for the second mixer.
The first mixer may end up a weak link. The stock and D.F. units
have a second mixer that is weaker
than the first so it is just fine. I find the first mixer works as
advertised and will give a wide band dynamic
range of 100 dB if the second mixer is upgraded.	TNX,	fc
