[Premium-Rx] Removing SMT Components

To make (relatively) easy value measurements of SMT parts, you need to get
a kind of probe that is similar to a Kelvin probe-that is to say: like a
pair of tweezers. You simply pick up the component using these, and read
your value. Usually, these probes are terminated in a BNC connector, so you
will also need-in that case-a dual (male) banana-to-BNC (female) adapter.
One of mine was made by ITT-Pomona, has no number on the package, but is
labelled: "Test Tweezers".

NOTE: If you plan to use this setup with an AADE L-C Meter, be aware that
the hole separation in the AADE unit is NOT standard, so you have to take a
pair of short (male) banana cables with large alligator clips on the ends,
and connect those to the male parts of the BNC-to-banana adapter.

Besides the expense all of this entails, you should also know that the
parts tend to pop out of the tweezers a lot, making the whole thing
questionable as a proposition-especially considering previously raised
reliability issues.
