Hi Wouter,
I Just looked at the AGC and like the attenuator in the first IF.
I don't like detecting the audio though. Check out the ARRL Solid
State Handbook. I used one similar to that one in my Homebrew.
That is a good reference book for solid state projects.
I added hardware to control the PAS3 attenuator in the first IF.
I also added control for variable hang time. fc

Subject: [Premium-Rx] Eddystone 1650 AGC performance
Hello,
I am a new member to this list and I have a question right away: I am
considering to use a similar AGC system like the one used in the Eddystone
1650 HF receiver (I happen to have its schematics here), for my homebrew HF
receiver. Are there any 1650 users who would like to comment on its AGC
performance? I noticed a message in the archive of a guy who wasn't so happy
with it...
Regards,
Wouter Jan PE4WJ
