[PPRAANet] SOTA Alert - Special Request

Quick update.

 

I just noticed the SOTA Alert is for 20m and 17m SSB, and doesn't include
2m.  I kind of expect to hear them on 2m, but I'm not 100% sure.  I'll try
to post a follow up to this email as soon as I learn what frequency they are
on.

Greetings everyone. I have a special request.

 

Tomorrow, sometime between 8:30am - 10:00am there will be a SOTA activation
on Ormes Peak, W0C/FR-052 on 146.52 MHz.  Sophie (10 years-old), and her
Dad, Andrew/K4EXE, will be on the peak, along with Steve/WG0AT.  Sophie
wants to get her license badly, and is excited about ham radio, and
specifically SOTA/POTA, thanks to her Dad.  Under FCC Control Operator
rules, Steve and Andrew will put her on the mic calling CQ and help her run
any pileups.  I'm told she's pretty sharp for a 10 year-old.  Soooo, if you
can monitor 146.52 MHz .. ESPECIALLY if you are a female operator (Leianna?
Cathy? Karen? Marianne?) .. Please chase her, and make her Ormes Peak
experience memorable!  Ormes Peak has a good line of sight with all of
Colorado Springs and surrounding areas (Pikes Peak's neighbor to the north).
