BREAKING APRS NEWS:    

I've been corresponding with Paul Dufresne VE3OTB over the past couple weeks about the APRS service SMSGTE. It had been taken down due to some "legalities and regulatory" issues. He had been searching for a solution to bring it into compliance with the RF overlords and it seems that one has been found as he emailed me this morning saying that it is back online. If you don't know what SMSGTE is, here's the nutshell. You can send messages to / from APRS to someone's phone number (they don't have to be a ham at all, anybody!) and vice versa. I just tested that it was back up and have confirmed that it is!
