I'd like to add this as well:

This kind of news really should have been followed by and addressed, by the PPRA board TO the membership.

As a first time PPRA member I've got to say, I am disappointed with the boards lack of communication and candor.

I've spoken to several PPRA members and the opinion is shared to some extent.   It appears the only time the membership hears anything directly, is through attending the meeting(s) in person.

Fact is not everyone can attend the meetings in person all the time or have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from attending.

While an amateur radio club isn’t centered solely around:


  *   Having a physical location
  *   Having an ECOMM/COMM/CLUB trailer
  *   Having equipment
  *   Etc.

Those ‘things’ are kind of … well … “part” of it.

It’s not the end of the world by any means but again, in my opinion something as drastic as this should have been followed by a statement from the elected board members as it directly affects the club and its membership.

Now in fairness, I understand that even while the club had a location, equipment etc., it wasn’t utilized to the extent that it should have been and folks who were at one time interested, do tend to ‘waver’ or “ disappear” (lack of interest after a while).. it’s a slippery slope .. I get that.

Now with that said, its just my .02$.  I still don’t mind hosting the sale at our place so that the club can get the “liquidation” squared away while it concentrates efforts on finding another suitable location etc. .

Hello everyone,

I checked again with the property owners about the sale we were planning
for this Saturday (4/1) and Sunday (4/2) and they are *NOT OK* with a lot
of people coming to their house or onto their property. So, the board is
actively trying to find a new location and develop a game plan for moving
the equipment off of the property and selling it from another location.

Please *do not come out to Ellicott* this weekend. We will keep you updated
regarding the items for sale. I apologize for any inconvenience.
