Dennis,
There could be opportunities to find a new home, however, with the time
crunch we're on (we have to be off the property in less than 90 days), the
cost and effort associated with finding a new location, moving everything,
then setting up antennas and how many people would actually use it, the
board voted to liquidate everything. We didn't want to spend the money,
blood, sweat and tears for only a handful of people to use it, then be told
in another year or two that we have to vacate the property again. Until we
can either purchase property, or find a very long-term lease, we don't
believe a permanent club station is feasible.
We do have any inventory of what is out there and I'll work on getting that
sent out. I just sent out another email of some pictures that were taken
yesterday. The club is absolutely more than just the club station in
Ellicott, and we are working on plans for the future where we will be
utilizing some of these items.
We didn't really consider the conflict with LARCfest to be honest. Our main
concern is removing everything from the property as quickly as possible. We
wanted to get the process started as soon as possible. Some of us could
probably be out there on Sunday 4/2 as well. I believe we also plan to be
out there the following weekend as well, and the weekend after until we can
get everything moved off. Another issue we faced is that once we get into
May, most people's weekends are already booked so our resources will be
limited.
Thanks,
Kyle
