Likewise, I am curious as well. I sent my email and info the gal who reviews the info but curious about the same questions Ben asked.

Hi all,
Karen and I would also be interested in representing the club in this. We're pretty new here and could not find details on the website; why is the club station not operational? Is there something we can do to help? Volunteer hours? Small hardware donation? Please point us in the right direction.

If the club station was operational, this would be a really good use for it.

Hello Colorado Section ARRL members!
Did you hear that the Colorado Section gets the rare opportunity to
operate as W1AW/0 in May and again in September. This is part of the
Volunteers on the Air year long special event. W1AW/x is worth 5 points
for everyone that gets it in the logs.
Date: May 24 - May 30 0:00 - 23:59 UTC
Can you run a pile up?
Can you keep/manage electronic logs for and ADIF file?
Do you have a pretty good home station?
If you answered yes then we're looking for you! This is your rare
chance to operate as one of the most well known call signs in the world!
What you should know before signing up. You will likely get MASSIVE
pileups. Remember there are tens of thousands of radio operators world
wide that will want to put you in their log. I would discourage you
from doing this in a POTA setting as you'll need to devote your
undivided attention to working and logging these calls. You don't need
a "big gun" station but a good antenna and a little bit of power will
help. You also need the best possible signal so you can provide a
contact to as many stations as possible. A suggestion might be to have
a helper/logger that will help a lot. Keep in mind that if you're
interested in VHF/UHF you could sign up for those bands as long as
contacts aren't made though repeaters VHF/UHF count.
You can use FM, SSB, CW or Digital during this event but only one
station per band/mode from the same state.
One other very noteworthy thing. Let's try not to only focus on 10
meters, 15 meters, and 20 meters. We certainly need a presence there
but we also need a presence on 40, 80, 160 so other hams here in
Colorado and our close neighboring states have a chance at getting
W1AW/0 in their logs too!
To sign up you'll need to go to the below URL and either sign in with
google/facebook or provide your email address and choose a password.
We'll need a day or so to authorize you (so we don't get spam signups).
After you're approved you'll be able to sign up for 2 hour blocks.
We're thinking we might do a meet and greet kind of thing on Zoom with
all the W1AW/0 volunteers probably in late April or early May.
