If set-up begins at/after 1800 UTC on Saturday (Noon Saturday Mountain Time), then class A and B stations can operate from 1800 on Sat to 2059 UTC on Sunday (2:59 PM Sunday MT) or 27 hours.
If set-up begins before 1800 UTC, then class A and B stations can only operate for 24 hours. So in this case if they start operating at Noon Saturday, they have to stop at Noon on Sunday. If they don’t start operating until 1900 UTC on Sat, then they have to stop at 1859 UTC on Sunday.
The latter is what applies to PPRAA since set-up will begin before 1800 UTC on Saturday.

I just read this on the ARRL letter for June 15.********** This year's event will begin at 1800 UTC on
Saturday, June 24 and run until 2059 UTC on Sunday, June 25.***********I think that means it starts on Saturday at noon Mountain time and ends on Sunday at 3:00PM Mountain time. Unless that is a typo in the letter.Dave

If you are not familiar, please see the attached Whatis Field Day document or visit www.arrl.org/field-day<http://www.arrl.org/field-day><http://www.arrl.org/field-day%3chttp:/www.arrl.org/field-day%3e> . We will be operating as AF0S (the PPRAA Club Call Sign) and K0NTS for theGOTA Station(http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Field-Day/2023/1_82-FD%20GOTA%20FAQ.pdf) Where: Mountain View Electric Association11140 East Woodmen RoadFalcon, CO 80831 When: Setup - Friday June 23, 2023 beginning @ 12:00PM MDTOperations - Saturday June 24, 2023 beginning @ 12:00PM MDT thru Sunday June25, 2023 11:59:59AM MDT (24 hours)Tear Down - Sunday June 25, 2023 beginning @ 12:00PM MDT till the site is asclean or cleaner than when we arrived. Food will be served also - check out the Field Day 2023 tab(https://ppraa.org/field-day) for more information. Talk in will be the CMRG Repeater on Cheyenne Mountain 147.345 / positiveoffset / 107.2 CTCSS - Any weather nets, priority, or emergency traffic willtake precedence. Site Communications will be Simplex - 446.1750 Field Day is about Amateur Radio, thus the most important part is gettingpeople on the radio. This is a great opportunity to learn from someincredibly knowledgeable operators and you don't even have to bring anyequipment. Even if you are not licensed you can Get On The Air (See what Idid there - GOTA). In order to maximize our time on the air, I have created a schedule(Attached & One Drive Link Below) for people to sign up. It's set up inhour increments over the 24 hour operating period, if you sign up, you don'thave to take the full hour, I'm sure there will be others who will only wantto try it for a little while. Don't be shy - "shyness can ruin so many goodopportunities" - Author Unknown. https://1drv.ms/b/s!AoCigZtTFjLP5WPFsWPSGs8ynw6d?e=eBul7q If you would like to take a slot, please send me an email and I will get youadded to the schedule and update it. Only 1 station can be on a band at one time - i.e. if station 1 is on 20M(any mode) - all other stations won't be - if station 1 is on 20M andstation 2 is on 15M - the GOTA station can be on any other band but 20M or15M. Please pay attention to this when signing up for a slot. Station #1 and #2 are capable of operating CW, but haven't been set up thatway previously - so if you are wanting to operate CW you will need to bringyour own Key and be ready to help get either station set up in CW mode (wewill have the station owners and user manuals available to help). That being said - if you really, really want to operate CW (like Jim K3ILCdid last year - he was a trooper and stayed up all night long - and gothundreds of contacts), meaning take multiple slots we can could changethings up a bit and go to Class 3A by setting up a separate station just forCW. To do this we will have to overcome a couple logistical challenges -the biggest, we need someone to provide a shelter for the station(preferably an RV of some sort or an enclosed trailer - it doesn't have tobe fancy, just weather proof and a way to get coax into the equipment) -then someone will need to provide the equipment (station, battery(s),solar), we can cover an antenna 80M-10M, but may need someone(s) to bringadditional coax as there will be some distance involved to get antennasspread out. This is a great chance to get involved with your club, meet some new peoplewith similar interests, grow your knowledge of Amateur Radio, and just havesome fun. This event is only once a year so don't let it slip by. Again, please email me your scheduling slots and feel free to email with anyother questions. I do still have a day job, so please be patient as it maytake till the evening(s) for me to respond. 73, Ken - K0KWHken at k0kwh.me <mailto:ken at k0kwh.me> 719-648-3586 ______________________________________________________________PPRAANet mailing listHome: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/ppraanetHelp: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htmPost: mailto:PPRAANet at mailman.qth.netThis list hosted by: http://www.qsl.netPlease help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
