[PPRAANet] 2023 WINTER field day results!

I Remember my terrible attitude at about 3AM when Ryan (my kiddo) and I were
the only ones up keeping the home fire burning so the all the equipment
didn't freeze, and when I went outside to check the tent ropes, bring in
more firewood, and I could see the ice building up on everything right
before my eyes.  Thank god for all those that came back Sunday and braved
the conditions to help pack everything up.

Seeing these #s makes it all feel better, and is certainly motivating for
next weekend.  Thanks LD.

Hello PPRAA,

One of my favorite field day traditions is, when we're packing up our gear
and getting ready to camp and operate, I like to pull up the results from
the previous field day, which usually take several months to be published.
So we can look at the previous season's final scores to get excited about
the field day on which we're about to embark!

Remember what it was like, trying to get the warm air from the stove
directed to our toes to keep them from freezing while we operated? 
Remember chipping ice off the generator to be able to refuel? Remember
layering up to run out and grab an armload of firewood? Remember good times
with friends, hot chocolate, hot cider, and rag-chewing with our fellow
hams?

All those efforts seem to have paid off. For Winter Field Day 2023, PPRAA,
call sign AF0S, earned 7250 points, which means we placed:

  * #46 out of all outdoor stations nationwide!
  * #17 out of all 2-transmitter outdoor stations nationwide!
  * #2 out of all Colorado stations of any kind!
  * #1 out of all Colorado outdoor stations!

The only Colorado station that earned more points was Scott Allen/W0SJE, who
had a 1H station and beat us with multipliers. I've posted a screenshot of

Congratulations everyone! Nice work, and I look forward to having a fun time
for summer field day on June 24-25 at Mountain View Electric. See you there!
