[PPRAANet] Mike Proctor KB0IAP SK

PPRAA and associated groups and individuals,

This is sad news, to be sure.
At the same time, I remember appreciating Mike's sense of humor!

Mid-'90s-ish,
I took a very basic class in searching and rescuing; as I recall, it was
offered to RACES by REACT.
The field exercise was administered in Palmer Park, where we ended up
finding a guy hiding in a sleeping bag under a thicket of shrubs.

Mike Proctor (whose voice and dialect still live in my mind's ear) had a
role in administering this class.
Along the way, he related a real-life story about tracking a gent who had
seemed to have gone missing...
At the end of a day of searching, as Mike told it, "We found him sitting on
the bed in a motel room wearing silk pajamas and with a bucket of chicken
in his lap!"

A less-clear memory has Mike roasting one of the other RACES members for
using Super Glue to install PL-259s on a run of coax.
This will probably never be substantiated, hi hi!
