[PPRAANet] source of interference

N0BAA here. Most of the LED bulbs my family has gotten have been terrible
with the RFI. As said it seems a lot of brands from Ace Hardware are
problematic with my experience too. KD0SFY has got a point with LED RFI
originating from off your property. I have many ceiling can lights from a
remodel that will completely wipe out the entirety of HF, causing S9 noise
on an antenna ~60ft away. I have been able to walk about 40 yards and am
still able to clearly pick up RFI. The noise is almost identical to power
line noise as said, but can be a little harsher. Some will just create
wideband white noise. The issue is I haven't been able to find consistency
with bulbs. Some affect HF. Some just affect VHF, but even bulbs of the
same brand and type can cause different issues. KB9RLW has a video on his
youtube channel showing how he reduced some of the noise by adding a cap to
a fixture. As much as I love using LEDs they are a major issue on the
radio. I hope this was helpful to all trying to figure out some RFI.
