Thanks for responding. I'm just trying to put a time pespecitvie on channel spacing. Oregon is now moving towards 12.5KHz spacing. Thanks, Chuck

We can always count on the ham community to embrace a standard. Well, actually multiple standards 😁
Dave has it correct (Colorado uses 15 kHz but other states may be different).
I wrote an article that goes a bit deeper on the topic if you are interested.

Chuck,
Repeater channel spacing varies from state to state. The original spacing is 30 KHz. As the band became more crowed, two camps emerged. One camp chose to split the existing band plan in half and use a 15 KHz channel spacing to get more repeater pairs. However, the occupied channel bandwidth of a typical FM repeater is 16 KHz. This can cause adjacent channel interference problems which is why many state frequency coordinators, like Colorado, require minimum distance between adjacent channels. Other states decided to get more channels be going to a 20 KHz channel spacing. This forced some repeaters to change frequencies to conform to the new band plan. The 20 KHz spacing practically eliminated the adjacent channel problem. New Mexico and others adopted the 20 KHz
Spacing.
So, the answer to your question depends on what state you are in.
Sorry for the long answer to an apparent simple question.

If I recall correctly repeater spacing during the 80's was 30KHz. When did spacing become 20KHz? Thanks, Chuck N7CHS
