  The latest from the Penrose Main ICU.  Just spoke with Rhoda and Mike is awake now most of the time and communicating with Rhoda and the nursing staff by signaling with head movements to answer their questions. That is serious progress.
  Still a lot of hurdles to jump, but Mike is understanding now what is going on.  Problems exist though.  What if he requires CPR?  They can't do it because of his rib damage.  He has tried to communicate using CW, but Rhoda's code is out of practice.   Funny, but he and I had discussed that at length in the past.   As soon as he can have visitors,  watch out!  A wave of CW to save his voice!
  All and all,  we can be thankful for the progress that Mike has made in the last few days.   We can only hope that he keeps getting better at a rapid rate.  Keep them in your thoughts.   Rhoda sure does appreciate it.
