[PPRAANet] Morse code question

Thanks everybody for your helpful suggestions on how to abbreviate “Colorado Springs” when using code.

I think I will use Gary’s (KB5AEB) suggestion of starting with just “CO” because the state seems to be what people care about most of the time. And then if they want more detail, it makes sense to supplement it with MIke’s (WV7T) idea of “COLO SPGS CO” if that is not sufficient.

In some cases it makes sense to use the grid square ID, DM78ov in my case, but it does not immediately tell you the state. I guess some contests use it as part of the exchange.

For one thing, there is only one Colorado Springs, so I should not have to include the CO part, anybody can figure out that Colorado Springs is in Colorado. Also, for most purposes it is only the state that really matters anyway, so I could just say “QTH is Colorado” and that would usually be enough.
