Greetings everyone,
The American Legion Post 209 Amateur Radio Club is hosting a VE session on August 22, at 1400 (2:00PM). Details are below. The club has been in existence just over a year and this is one of the first public activities we are undertaking. Please give this widest dissemination to your group.....website, Facebook, email, word of mouth, etc. Thank you very much for your assistance.
"The American Legion Amateur Radio Club (TALARC) at post 209 will conduct a VE session (Volunteer Examiner amateur radio license testing) on Aug 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM. The session will be at the AL Post, located at 3613 Jeannine Dr. Colorado Springs, CO 80917. (West side of Academy Blvd between N. Carefree and Austin Bluffs.) Those testing do not need to be a member of the American Legion.
All required social distancing, including wearing a mask, will be observed.
Testing will be for the Technician and General license.
Those testing must present the following:
1. Photo ID
2. Copy of your Amateur license, if licensed
3. Test fee of $15.00
4. Calculators are allowed, but memories will be verified to be cleared.
5. Additionally, if testing for Technician, bring an FCC Registration Number (FRN) to the session or be prepared to provide your Social Security Number. An FRN may be obtained at: https://www.fcc.gov/new-users-guide-getting-started-universal-licensing-system-uls The FCC requires an FRN to obtain a license.
