[PPRAANet] Inside antenna?

While an indoor antenna is somewhat safer from a direct strike or flash-over from a nearby strike, they can still pick up a lot of power over the air from what is essentially a small EMP of a lightning strike. Therefore, it is always a good idea to use a grounded lightning suppressor even with an indoor antenna.

Subject: [PPRAANet] Inside antenna?

Sitting here with my outside antennas disconnected as the lightning flashes, I was wondering about the idea of stringing up an antenna and counterpose within my basement shack. Would that be safe from induced current from nearby lightning?

Thanks.
